I read the Steelers article on ESPN.com yesterday, and it had this line: [T]he Steelers are the only team Uni Watch can think of whose logo is based on a design from a completely different industry. May I introduce Uni Watch to the New York Red Bulls. The ~~cleaning-solvent~~ energy-drink company bought the NY/NJ MetroStars in 2006 and "re-branded".

BYU only went to navy in the past few years (when Nike shifted them to those goofy “huge peephole” things). Prior to that, their athletic teams spend decades in royal & white. Most of their best football years were in the royal & white worn by those great passing teams with QBs like Schiede, McMahon, Nielson, Wilson, Young, the Detmers (Ty & Coy) and others.

Not to say this year’s navy & white were bad-looking, just that they have a bunch of succesful history in royal & white.
