As the guy behind the meat bracket from years ago (thanks for the link!), I can’t imagine why anyone would be a dick about it.

The key issue for American Football League fans is that the NFL is doing *anything* to “remember the AFL”. The fact that we’ll see AFL throwbacks from whatever year is exciting. The officials in the “Legacy” games will wear chinese-red-striped shirts and have the AFL logo on chest and cap. Unfortunately, the Original Eight AFL teams will *not* wear AFL patches except for the “Legacy” games. The 50th Anniversary patches for all the Original Eight leave something to be desired.

…when it said this was a 1962 game-used Raiders jersey.

It was then pointed out that the ‘62 Raiders had no white on their ‘62 home jerseys…that it had to be a ‘60 or ‘61 jersey. Also was noted that the Raiders had NOB both those seasons. This jersey does not.

I see the description has now changed to a ‘62 preseason jersey. Possible, but back number still far too high ever to have been used in conjunction with a NOB. Unless, of course, the jersey goes way, WAY back to one of first Raider games of 1960.

So…it’s either a fake, or even more valuable than they realize. Would be interesting to know the answer.

Don’t know if this is online anywhere, but there’s a photo of a San Diego State baseball player in today’s Sports Illustrated with a disgusting amount of logo creep. Socks, belt, glove, jersey, you name it. Nike, of course.

The reason why the shoulder stripes don’t go all the way around on the Colts jerseys as compared to the SD jersey is because of where the stripes land. The SD stripes are farther out and actually run almost around the outside of the shoulder. However, the Colts/Pats stripes are higher up and thus hit a seam cutting off the stripes where we see them end.

As I stated, any excuse for not doing it correctly is weak. Even if you had to taper the stripes there is no reason for this when you can do this.

The “REASON” that they can’t get the stripes right – to go all the way around – even though the manufacterers were able to do so for 50 plus years until recently, is because the manufacterers are LAZY ASSED IDIOTS that can sell anything they want to sell, because they know most of us will continue to buy it because “that’s what the pros really wear” ….

Recently bought two high quality Titan’s/Jets Navy Blue jerseys on EBAY for about $30.00 apiece, they were made by an independent label for an autograph seller, and they have the full sleeves, full UCLA striping, and are as good as any jerseys sold as “authentic” by the NFL/Reebook cartel.

They (NFL/Reebok) could make them right, but they won’t. That also goes for most of the IDIOTS currently manufactering NCAA jerseys. however, you can go to a HS stadium on any Friday night and find them made correctly.

Great points. How odd is it that they act like the can not make the stripes go all the way around today. But years ago they did. Ohio State got rid of the traditional and classic gray sleeve stripe to the current one. And even it does not go around.

What no one is getting is that the team got to CHOOSE their legacy year.

The other thing no one is getting is that the Chiefs PLAYED IN KC during the AFL years, and went to two super bowls too! Therefore the natural choice for the legacy years should be 1966 or 1969. Why choose a non championship Texans team over a championship Chiefs team.

If lets say we moved to KC in 1981 well after the AFL years in Dallas then having the Texans helmet would make perfect sense.

I finally found the photos showing the ‘60 Oilers wore the same numbers on their road uniforms, in a page of thumbnail photos of a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Yep – I like the tri-corner hat, and used it in the logo for a team in one of my sim leagues.
