Pitt definatly had the FIOB for a few years. My neighborhood friend Tim Colicchio (#25 Fullback) had the old royal blue jersey with his first initial... Colicchio isn't a popular name. He lead blocked and spelled Curtis Martin in Pitt's backfield.
The NFL Network was showing a game between the Pack and the Bears from November of 1985 today, and I grabbed some pics of the Pack wearing their numbers on their pants. When did this start/end? Also, remember when players had sleeves?

Re: the KC Scouts radio. I got one of these radios for Christmas way back when and what you got was the radio and a set of 18 stickers (logo & name) for each of the teams at the time. I, of course, put the Canadiens logo and name on mine.

A few years back, long after I'd lost the first one, a friend of mine found one at a yard sale for a dollar and picked it up for me. It's in the background of <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/7609982@N04/3343368328/sizes/m/" rel="nofollow">this photo</a>

The AFL illustration had several inaccuracies - Bob Griese\'s facemask, Floyd Little wore a U-bar, didn\'t he? The \"Broncs\" #63\'s facemask isn\'t realistic. Most were drawn from specific photographs, like Namath.

My fave Angels cap had a halo. Great having G. Anderson on my Braves. And that old script PITT is loads better than the current unis.

I noticed that photo of Bakken with chinstrap unsnapped years ago. When he appeared in the PP&K booklet, they used a drawing of that photo, complete with unsnapped chinstrap. So I never snapped mine...in warmups.

Once SI compared the 3 Steeler QB\'s based on how they wore chinstraps: Bradshaw (none), Hanratty (buckled), & Joe Gilliam (hanging).

The Miami Heat wearing "El Heat" red jerseys tonight at home against the Bulls. Oh my god, Dwayne Wade hit a near midcourt 3-pointer right before halftime to give the Heat a 2-point lead, and in OT2 he hits a 3-pointer running with like 0:01:03 seconds left. Just completely ridiculous. 130-127 El Heat over Bulls in OT2. Unreal. God I hate missed free throws, that always come back to bite you in the ass.

3.) Rangers/Bruins was quite sweet yesterday. Classic sweaters.
This has nothing to do with uniforms, but there was a great instance in the Rangers-Bruins game yesterday of fighting in hockey, and why knowing "the code" is important.

For those of you who want to complain about fighting in hockey (hopefully not many) because you don't know "the code", there was a great example of what "the code" is. Pierre McGuire - who I abhor and detest as a commentator - made mention of it just as I was exclaiming Shawn Thornton's honour in his fight against the Rangers' Colton Orr while watching NBC.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMaqy-nPZzE" rel="nofollow">Click here</a> to watch the fight, and check out what Thornton does once Orr's jersey goes over his face. He wasn't "jerseyed" per se, but huge props to Thornton for knowing "the code".
I don't want to turn this into a hockey fighting forum, but it is too bad that Milan Lucic hasn't learned the code from his teammate Thornton:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mggOCzMkJHw

In this video, he celebrates the fight and mocks the opposition. Jack Edwards also said that Komisarek "turtled", while in reality he has a separated shoulder.

In the following video, Lucic is punching the guy why he is down on the ice:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duQSL_HI-ec

And here is a great example of "the code":
Jim Ringo, the jauntily chapeau'd center for the Packers, is talking to Chuck Bednarik, the 'iron man' center/linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles. That is a pre-game pic, from a story about the last time an NFL player (Bednarik)played an entire game on offense AND defense.

And check out Bednarik's profile. THAT is what tough guys look like.
You think modern day punks like #85 from the Bengals and that guy who signed with the Bills, would mouth off at Bednarik?

They probably would.
