"Fuchs" is German for "fox" and is a very common surname. It's not that guy's fault that the cameraman was at just the wrong angle, and that the photo was seen by English-speaking people unaware of the sponsor.
I thought I read somewhere (and I would have guessed it was here) that Chicago's goalies always have thicker black stripes on their jerseys. I can only assume it's to let the stitcher know that it's a goalie's jersey? No clue.
From UNI WATCH
Feb 28th 2008:

I think Tom O’Grady mentioned this a few weeks ago, but it bears repeating: The Blackhawks’ red and black sleeve stripes are supposed to be of equal thickness, but the team’s goalies have thicker black stripes — weird (with thanks to J D Vercett for the latest round of pics).

I can't find anything on any other site.

He's one man. There's no need for two patches for the same guy. Hell, Gretzky didn't even get two patches, and we're talking about Glen Wesley!

Tonight in Raleigh the Hurricanes are retiring Glen Wesley's #2. I am pretty sure he is the last active link from Hartford to Carolina.

During warmups, all players had a small "Wesley 2" stitched just to the left of the collar, in the same font as the numbers and letters on the back. Those will probably be worn during the game, because the players are still wearing them as Wesley is giving a speech, and everything else is ready for opening faceoff.
Its the exact same treatment they gave Ron Francis in the 2005-2006 season. All wore his jersey pre-game, then switched to their normal jerseys but with a chest patch reading 'WESLEY' with his number below it, and beneath the alternate logo on the left sleeve, they put a simple patch with the outline of the Hurricanes main logo with Wesley's #2 in the middle.

I'd expect Rod Brind'Amour to be getting the same treatment the year after he retires, and then it'll be a while before another one gets retired. Only ones on the roster right now who could would be Staal and possibly Cam Ward, but thats a long time away.

There are photo galleries of both the pre-game ceremony as well as the game itself (5-1 Bruins win) at hurricanes.nhl.com

Hey Teebz,
Here's that Al Smith mask I was looking for awhile ago. We were dicussing the baseball jersey with multiple team logo's. This is the actual mask not 1 of the white knock-offs.

Ah yes!!!

Great find! I may have to do another article regarding masks coming up. :o)
