I flipped over to ESPN for SC and the 'Nova/WVU game was still going on (color on color, btw). Any body know why WVU's #30 doesn't have his NOB?

Funny thing I noticed on a Premier League jersey today:

I bought a Tottenham Hotspur away jersey from Subside Sports in Berlin in December, and ordered Luka Modric, #14 on the back. Modric's name, spelled correctly, has a left-to-right-rising accent over the C, however. Subside didn't have this character, but since I was moving to London, I figured I'd just add the accent there.

When I got my jersey, it turned out that the numbers on the back were a felt-type material. I've bought jerseys at Tottenham Hotspur's official shop before and they always had numbers made of thin rubber. Subside, however, only ever sells authentic licensed merchandise, and their numbers did correspond exact to PL replica specs.

I took the jersey to the White Hart Lane megastore today to have the accent added, and immediately the guy working the lettering machine goes: "Oh, we don't have those felt numbers. They're more durable though. But we only do the rubber numbers."

Meanwhile, I had standard PL numbers done up on an Everton jersey yesterday at Lillywhite's on Piccadilly Circus, and those were rubber numbers just like what Spurs have at their shop.

So, to recap: If you buy a Premier League jersey and get felt numbers on the back, it's not necessarily a fake. There's just a good chance that the lettering wasn't done in England. The Premier League sleeve patches, by the way, are the same in both places.

My Modric jersey now has felt numbers and letters and a rubber accent over the C, which I think is kind of a neat story. Just wondering, though, has anyone had any experience ordering lettered-up PL jerseys from merchants in other countries? Are the felt numbers specific to Germany, or how does it work?

Between the purple and orange jerseys, Beasley's purple shoe and orange shoe, the foul line circle turned into an orange sun, and the screaming kids dressed in pink in the stands, this might be the ugliest all-star event... EVER

Meh. Home aren't much different and I'm not a big fan of the "black on black" road ones. Oh well. At least Nike didn't go out in left field.
Am I mis-remembering a Purdue uni that had railroad tracks on the side of the shorts? I have this picture of that in my mind, and I either want them to do it for the first time, or to design a uni that has a railroad track on the shorts.

Maybe it was the football pants. 5 minutes of googling has revealed nothing.....
Not a great shot, but maybe these?

As Iowa unveils their new jerseys over the weekend, does anybody know when they last wore gold jerseys? (It was pre-Lickliter, so probably Feb. or March 2007.)
