Anyway, every one of those games had at least one major flaw that removed them from consideration:
Patriots’ flying Elvis
Chargers’ navy pants (they need to ditch those.)
The Pack’s garish road unis/Jags’ stupid “hairball” helmet logo
Lions’ black trim

So, NFL week 15 worst uni matchup? I figured Cardinals-Vikings would be a shoo-in, but I didn’t count on the Jets going solid green against the Bills.

Best? Not too many good ones to choose from. I think I’ll have to go with the Thursday night game but you could make a case for the late game tonight as well.

John Williams, Rams OL wore the weird facemask combo….

But Bob Brown did wear the original outside padded Leather/rubber-topped helmet that had a strip of leather/padding on the outside of the top of the helmet – thought to prevent concussions.

You can see the padded strip in Ricko’s photos. This was standard factory issued on some vintasge helmet lines. About three years ago GQ or Esquire magazine had a great full page picture of Bob Brown wearing the helmet with the outside padding – I believe that the actual article was how cold-weather sideline capes were fadding into the past and how they brought a certain sartorial element to NFL games, particularly those played in weather ere the ‘capes” were necessary.

John Williams wore that Facemask-and-a-half for a couple of years – I saw it against the Saints a bunch of times.

A personal anecdote involving Ladies Love Cool James.

When I was a freshman in HS, I worked a t a neighborhood deli Saturday afternoons until about 8 and all day Sundays.

One of our regular customers form “around the way” was the legendary Hip Hop music producer Marley Marl.

He would regularly bring in his mucsician friends for a bite to eat.

One Saturday during football season, he comes in with LL. Because I knew MM pretty well, It wasn’t a big deal but LL. At that time, he had blown up, with “Mama said Knock you out”.

Well MM introduces me to LL and asks me if I had a game that morning. Coincidentally we had won and I had played an especially good game, a few TD’s, a pick whatever.

The next week, they both come in again. This time LL comes in, remembers my name and starts BS’ing with me asking me whether I had a game this week and whatnot.

Silly, but pretty cool.

MPowers, you are truly my idol. I’ve been quietly admiring your sneaker collection, but I had to speak up when I read this. Making hoagies (sorry Philly guy) for LL? I would have just stood there in shock staring, and then when somebody told me to get to work I’d probably cut off a finger trying to slice tomatoes or something.
