What, is Lukas your boyfriend? Is there some sort of "My Bodyguard" thing going on there? He has a keyboard with which to defend himself. So let him. Which he always does.
Except that there's one of him and many of us. Which, again, was the ENTIRE REASON for all the strikethrus due to the immense number of accusation people threw out at him yesterday. Are we finished arguing in circles?
Why respond to people in such a pompous manner?
If my response was pompous, how pompous is it to accuse a red-blooded, baseball-loving, apple-pie-eating, Star-Spangled-Banner-singing, patriotic American living in NYC - the one place where the heartbeat of America has lived since September 11, 2001 - as being a Communist/Socialist/Fascist?
Whoa... hire a typist or read before hitting "Say It!" button. Sorry, NYC!

Your hockey stuff is great Teebz, and invaluable to this site. But sometimes you really come off like a Grade A jerk with some of your responses.
I am a Grade A jerk when people bitch and complain about the same crap over and over again. Every time Paul has an opinion of his own on something other than uniforms, people lose their freaking minds on this site.

Is he not entitled to an opinion? Can he not write about what he likes? Can he not sprinkle in some social commentary about something other than uniforms? Is he a terrorist for commenting on the social metaphor that Yankee Stadium means to HIM?

Yet when he does, people label HIM as a Communist. He's not allowed to express HIS opinion. He can't speak about what HE thinks.

I guess it's all about perspective. Which side of the window are you looking from?
I never said he's not entitled to an opinion. My whole point was that you hate when Lukas gets bashed for expressing his opinion. Fair enough. And yet the following day, a couple of people expressed a contrary opinion to what you, and I GUESS the majority of readers, felt, mainly that Paul had somehow "stuck it" to the naysayers from the day before in an "intellectually comedic" manner, and you couldn't wait to get on them. Including one who committed the cardinal sin of opining that it was funny, but he felt that it got to be a bit much at the end.

And the comments in question had absolutely nothing to do with the prior day's topic. A couple of people said they duidn't like what Paul did in the Ticker. Fair enough. No one responded, and no one was probably going to respond. Save for you, with (a what I can only assume you considered) a witty response, but which instead came across as extremely condescending. Yes, this is Paul's blog. Yes he's entitled to his opinion. Yes, it's messed up when people carve him up over his opinion. We get all that.

the Bucks finnaly unvieled their red alternates. big props for putting “Milwaukee” on them. They look SHARP
Those do look sharp, Ben Neureuther. I love the use of "Milwaukee." It recalls the early Kareem/Big O years. I was so glad when they ditched purple and went back to the original colors.

Paul. That little strike through post was childish. I thought you were brighter then that.
How bright do you have to be to appreciate intellectual comedy?
It was intellectually comedic the first two or three times. By the time it got to about 8-9 times, it got a little old.

In my humble opinion, of course.
Oh, it got old? Kinda like how yesterday people called Paul a Socialist, a Communist, a fascist, a liar, a hypocrite, a prick, a jerk, et cetera?

Yeah, it got old. Real fast. That's why Paul's comedic irony today was so clever. He stuck it to everyone who crapped on him yesterday because he knew you'd all come back to see what he wrote today. Isn't that ironic, don'cha think?

Tune in next week when I'll give a full pedagogy on comedy, and how it can be used effectively to convey a message. After all, a lesson taught with humor is a lesson retained.

Well done, Paul.
Wow, could anyone have their lips more firmly planted on Lukas' ass?

I like how you conveniently ignore the fact that he guy said it was funny at first and decide to lecture us all on the value of comedy. Hey, I thought it was funny too. I didn't think it went overboard. But obviously someone did. And he's probably not the only one. And just like people crapped all over Paul for his opinion, you crap all over this guy.

You may think Paul's "comedic irony" was clever. I thought it was clever too. It certainly made me laugh, I will say that. But I can also see the flip side, which is maybe it got a little overbearing. Or maybe someone else thought it was childish. To each his own.

I may not agree with it, but I'll try to accept and/or appreciate every opinion. As opposed to taking your tact, which is to defend Lukas and basically dismiss the two people who said they weren't into what he did. One of whom (Mr. Met) actually defended Paul the day before. What, does the love for Paul have to be such that it doesn't allow a contrary opinion the following day?

Let Lukas defend himself. He reads every post and will chime in with his own thoughts when he feels appropriate. He's a grown man.

Real fast. That’s why Paul’s comedic irony today was so clever. He stuck it to everyone who crapped on him yesterday because he knew you’d all come back to see what he wrote today. Isn’t that ironic, don’cha think?

Tune in next week when I’ll give a full pedagogy on comedy, and how it can be used effectively to convey a message. After all, a lesson taught with humor is a lesson retained.

Well done, Paul.
