I never said he’s not entitled to an opinion. My whole point was that you hate when Lukas gets bashed for expressing his opinion. Fair enough. And yet the following day, a couple of people expressed a contrary opinion to what you, and I GUESS the majority of readers, felt, mainly that Paul had somehow “stuck it” to the naysayers from the day before in an “intellectually comedic” manner, and you couldn’t wait to get on them. Including one who committed the cardinal sin of opining that it was funny, but he felt that it got to be a bit much at the end.

And the comments in question had absolutely nothing to do with the prior day’s topic. A couple of people said they duidn’t like what Paul did in the Ticker. Fair enough. No one responded, and no one was probably going to respond. Save for you, with (a what I can only assume you considered) a witty response, but which instead came across as extremely condescending. Yes, this is Paul’s blog. Yes he’s entitled to his opinion. Yes, it’s messed up when people carve him up over his opinion. We get all that.

It was intellectually comedic the first two or three times. By the time it got to about 8-9 times, it got a little old.

Yeah, it got old. Real fast. That’s why Paul’s comedic irony today was so clever. He stuck it to everyone who crapped on him yesterday because he knew you’d all come back to see what he wrote today. Isn’t that ironic, don’cha think?

Wow, could anyone have their lips more firmly planted on Lukas’ ass?

I like how you conveniently ignore the fact that he guy said it was funny at first and decide to lecture us all on the value of comedy. Hey, I thought it was funny too. I didn’t think it went overboard. But obviously someone did. And he’s probably not the only one. And just like people crapped all over Paul for his opinion, you crap all over this guy.

You may think Paul’s “comedic irony” was clever. I thought it was clever too. It certainly made me laugh, I will say that. But I can also see the flip side, which is maybe it got a little overbearing. Or maybe someone else thought it was childish. To each his own.

I may not agree with it, but I’ll try to accept and/or appreciate every opinion. As opposed to taking your tact, which is to defend Lukas and basically dismiss the two people who said they weren’t into what he did. One of whom (Mr. Met) actually defended Paul the day before. What, does the love for Paul have to be such that it doesn’t allow a contrary opinion the following day?

Let Lukas defend himself. He reads every post and will chime in with his own thoughts when he feels appropriate. He’s a grown man.
