Hello everyone,
I just saw it for a split second, but it appeared that at the Favre press conference one of the NFL Network microphones had the old logo and the other had the new one. Did anybody else see that, or am I crazy?
-Bryan
Not crazy at all Bryan because I noticed it too. And the only reason I didn't mention it already is because I was sure someone would have posted it on here. Is the NFL having an identity crisis?

As a side note, it goes without saying the being from Wisconsin I am a die hard Packers fan, always have been, and always will. (Hell, my wedding is at Lambeau Field 4th of July 2009), so is it wrong of me to get a Favre Jets jersey???
Not at all.
I don't really buy jerseys for teams other than the Yankees or Patriots, however I came very close to breaking that rule for Drew Bledsoe (Childhood idol) . I was never able to find a Bills one (this was before I shopped online) and I DESPISE the Cowboys. In any case, I always support ex-players who were favorites of mine. Hell, my favorite Pats jersey is still my away wight, on-field authentic Lawyer Milloy.

Do the Yankees even have Cool-base jerseys? It doesn't seem like they wore them in Texas, despite the heat.
As far as I know, the Yankees have NEVER worn cool base jerseys during a game. The do sell them though, like anything else....

Note to Jets: Please, please, please do NOT wear the green & green combo. Really have no desire to see what Brett Favre looked like if he'd played in the early 60's CFL, the Arena league or for some rural, backwater high school without the manpower or budget to keep white pants clean.
OH Please. The green and green FANTASTIC. Best Jets combo!!!
Nope. Looks like East Podunk High, especially to those of us who were around for the days when only top line programs had the wherewithall to afford the luxury of white pants.

(Actually, and I'm sure this is part of the trend toward dark pants, the new turfs made from tires get hundreds of little black pills--or even more bits of fake green grass--all over them, and the damn things don't come out in the laundry. Gotta pick those suckers off by hand. I know, I play softball on a turf like that all winter long under a local high school's air-supported-dome football field. So I can understand that white pants might remain a pain, just in a different way.)

I realize things change, but the dark pants do still take some getting used to. I just keep thinking of SO many horrible small-town high school programs that dressed like that.

QUESTION: Thinking of renting SCHOOL TIES with Brandon Fraser cuz of the old school football unis. Is the movie any good?

---Ricko
Ricko,

The movie is pretty good, it's watchable, but the uniforms make the movie (for me) the very best vintage/throwback football movie made in color.
....and as of 8 am EDT, www.jetsshop.com is totally non-responsive. It seems people will do anything to see a J-E-T-S Favre #4, even if it is just a replica. Apparently, the site had it up for sale by midnight last night.
Somewhere in America a pack rat, in his garage or storage, has a couple of dozen of those $19.99 Glenn Foley #4 Jets authentics from 2001 that he bought off of the bargain rack and will finally be able to sell - after removing the Foley nameplate.

Behind every jersey fortune there is a patience, fortune, the ability to withstand the taunts and aggravation of the wife that wants the jerseys gone, and the implacable desire to purchase everything on sale no matter how useless at the time !!!

It seemed like the Giants on Thursday were wearing slightly different jerseys similar to the one Amani Toomer sampled in the Cowboys playoff game last year. Can we get Joe Skiba in on this?

In the Madden 09 Demo, the midfield logo is the new logo. The only thing you can play is a recreation of the SuperBowl from Manning's throw to Tyree onward. Manning is wearing the wrong helmet and facemask though. He is wearing the combo his brother uses. Also, Shockey stiil on Giants, Manningham on the Giants, and can't bring in Tyree. There was also many more uni issues that previewers noticed. Most of them are mentioned here: http://www.pastapadre.com/2625/madden-09-uniform-errors-list and here: http://www.pastapadre.com/2648/madden-09-uniform-blog
PS:Congrats on the Wedding
Thanks for the congrats. I knew that when I got a girl to commit to getting married at Lambeau Field, she was a keeper! Plus it's 4th of July, so there will be fireworks. It will be kind of weird losing my freedom as a single man on Independence Day.
