My point was about the pitcher's name, and a pun on America's most beloved (and longest running) game show, might I add.

And with that, subject closed.

I think the point Bryan was trying to make was that an up and coming minor league player should not be the draw. What he failed to realize is that Price put up these stats his last year at Vandy (11-1 2.63 ERA 194 K's in 133.1 innings pitched) and is expected to be with the Tampa Bay (Devil) Rays before the end of the season. A Lefty with mid to upper 90's heat and control? That's something I'd pay $7 at a minor league park to see.

Uh, dude, Guns 'n Roses was "AWESOME" longer than the period of "91-92."

Frankly, they blitzed the scene in '87 with Welcome to the Jungle. From that point, it was on ... at least up until about '93.

PS - Where's the love for the greatest fictious high school basketball uniforms in history ...

Actually for the South it's biscuits and syrup (which they sell at the Biscuits games). Just got back and all of the Biscuits players had pants pulled up to the knees with high socks showing. The Brimingham Barons had on their new Red alt tops all with pajama pants on. It's too bad the Biscuits lost in 10.

This isn't related to anything, but...

I went to the SF/MIL game last night (and got my Crazy Crab Bobblehead, Stuby) with my fifteen year old sister. I spent the first half of the game explaining to her why CC, Prince Fielder, et al looked ridiculous in there pajama pants. She immediately agreed...another convet.

Interestingly, the best dressed person on the field was the Brewers' bat boy. He had snug fitting pants and high socks. The NOB was BAT BOY, but what was weird was that his jersey was #99. I have seen "BB" or the current year (ie, 08 for this season) lots of times, but never this (well, not since 1999, I suppose). Any Wisconsinites with any insight?
Awesome about that Crab bobblehead. Best Anti-Mascot ever!
<b>That CC bobble is just....ugly.</b> But I will be there next Sunday for my Matt Cain Bobble, to go next to my (urp) Zito Bobble. And next year, if all goes well, a Lincecum Bobble seems appropriate.
Of course it's ugly, it's the Crazy Crab! It was fun to boo him again.

Would also nominate THE NATURAL, both for best ficticious uniform (New York Knights) and for accuracy.

North Dallas Bulls in NORTH DALLAS FORTY not bad, although pretty much a Raider knockoff.

NFL unis pretty accurate in NUMBER ONE, too.
http://i2.iofferphoto.com/img/item/475/641/31/o_number_one.jpg

THE PROGRAM good for ficticious football.

Hmmm...found this:
http://www.misterhabs.com/TV_movie.htm
BEST FOOTBALL UNIFORMS IN ANY MOVIE .....

School Ties ... 1940's uniforms for 4-5 teams, it ranks right there with THE NATURAL for great uniforms.

By the way, it has ALWAYS been my belief that THE NATURAL kick-started the large-scale interest in Throwback hats and jerseys that have been the bedrock of Mitchell & Ness and Ebbets Field Flannels. thank heavens for that movie .....

Let’s read your picks.

Tomorrow we could to the Worst Ofs.

Would also nominate THE NATURAL, both for best ficticious uniform (New York Knights) and for accuracy.

North Dallas Bulls in NORTH DALLAS FORTY not bad, although pretty much a Raider knockoff.

NFL unis pretty accurate in NUMBER ONE, too.
http://i2.iofferphot...

THE PROGRAM good for ficticious football.

Hmmm…found this:
http://www.misterhab...

BEST FOOTBALL UNIFORMS IN ANY MOVIE …..

School Ties … 1940’s uniforms for 4-5 teams, it ranks right there with THE NATURAL for great uniforms.

By the way, it has ALWAYS been my belief that THE NATURAL kick-started the large-scale interest in Throwback hats and jerseys that have been the bedrock of Mitchell & Ness and Ebbets Field Flannels. thank heavens for that movie …..

So the whole idea of OKC basketball came to fruition when Hurricane Katrina came and moved the Hornets out of New Orleans, right?

And they're naming the team Thunder? Hm.
looks like the new NBA team is going to be OKC Thunder:

http://www.koco.com /sports/16925692/det ail.html

Is there any way Uni Watch can get a petition going against this? What a terrble way to start off a franchise.
I'm personally more in favor of the "Outlaws" nickname that the article suggests was one of the main options.

Not only would it be delicious irony, given the fact that they had to reach a court settlement to move the team...but it would also make me think of the USFL and the old Oklahoma (later Arizona) Outlaws. We need more latent references to the USFL. :)
