Re Uni Suppliers...didn't San Jose State recently(5 years ago maybe?) use a small Uni company. And they had a "Busy" design to say the least. I seem to remember the coach saying something effect that it was a recruiting tool.
I was just looking through some photos on Facebook (I know, I know...) and saw a photo of the Hartford Whalers wearing Cooperalls.

http://photos-017.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v251/145/59/680672017/n680672017_949615_7337.jpg

Also, I am not sure if this is a rumor, or something that Paul can check on with his contacts, but... I have heard that the State of Connecticut, not the NHL or Carolina Hurricanes, own the trademarks on the name and logo for the Hartford Whalers.
ya i was playing nhl 06 recently and i played the nhl 94 retro game and they had hartford listed as the hartford canes.
the Raptors switch happened this offseason. It was then that the Raps used the red theme on their logo. Previous years still had the purple on it
Hey now, the 3930's before they added the stupid crap to the side of the hat in 2007 were good, I like my phillies 2006 bp hat.
But yea, the NL hats were ugly with the rest of the gray uniform, also I saw a rockies player as the catcher, solid gray top + gray pinstriped pants looks crappy.

late to the party i know, but im watchin' the HRD on the dvr...

i am certain i'll be in the minority, but i LOVE LOVE LOVE the monochromatic gray that is the nl...looks like a uniform, not a softball team...the 3930's are shit, of course, but i, for one, would like to see a team employ the all gray look as a full and actual uniform some day...

the accent color should be a nice, deep dark blue, similar to what they're sporting now
This definitely will clash with your opinion about "uniform," but it's how I feel, so I'll let it rip.
Not only are the 3930's pieces of garbage, they represent a stupid idea here at the ASG weekend. The All-Star Game is all about individuals who had a great first half of the season, and who get an extra game and an extra paycheck for their efforts. When everybody is wearing the same AL or NL hat, I have a hard time recognizing these star players for whom I may or may not have voted.
I guess the same argument applies to the BP shirts, but I don't see the shirts as such a radical change. At least the name and number stay the same (no matter how many duplicate numbers there may be). Or maybe it's just because the hats are the more recent "damn merchandising opportunity." But either way, I think the hats go too far. I'm not a fan. Kudos to the NL Derby-doers for ditching the gray domes.
Upon further review, I might be agreeing with you on the sh*tty 3930's.
But I still don't agree with the gray from head to toe look. The Royals and Orioles have flirted with it, and they both failed miserably, and with good reason. The hat, along with the sleeves, socks, and piping, represents a golden opportunity to add color to the uniform and the team identity. Why punt?
well said, mike...can't say i disagree all that strongly...but

well...i said i'll be in the minority...and im sure i will

and i don't say gray from head to toe per se...i do like the gray hat, and obviously the gray shirt & pants, but what we are left with is a beautiful opportunity for a deep dark blue for an accent...on the brim (not the whole brim--no two-tone crap...on the edge of the brim)...on the button...undersleeves...stirrups...and shoes...plus some blue piping on the pant legs, and a tasteful wordmark on the jersey & sweet logo

wouldn't be bland, could be classic...if i could do up a template or p-chop, i would, but i can't
