The All-Star Game is all about individuals who had a great first half of the season, and who get an extra game and an extra paycheck for their efforts. When everybody is wearing the same AL or NL hat, I have a hard time recognizing these star players for whom I may or may not have voted. I guess the same argument applies to the BP shirts, but I don't see the shirts as such a radical change. At least the name and number stay the same (no matter how many duplicate numbers there may be). Or maybe it's just because the hats are the more recent "damn merchandising opportunity."
