Isn't the whole concept of lucky uniforms rather silly in itself? Can't LSU win or lose based on talent and not superstition. Geez.... I think the NCAA rules seem perfectly logical. Home whites, road grays or darks.
Umm...you do know you're talking about a baseball team, right?
I understand the concept of superstition in baseball... it has a long history. But I also understand that teams like the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox seem to have done just fine without having wear "lucky" uniforms like the Rockies did last year (and no, it wasn't the uniforms that got them to the World Series).
That's not the point. The question is why is the NCAA so worried about the specific color (white vs light)? Really, what difference does it make, as long as the 2 teams aren't wearing the same color?

In football, the home team CAN NOT wear white without special permission.
In baseball, the home team HAS TO wear white.

Okay, I know I'm a few days late on this discussion and I hate to make a comment off the topic of uni watching, but I need to give my input.
Is the NBA game what it used to be... of course not. But I don't see the Bears running the single wing offense in the NFL anymore either. If you want to see more than dunks and three's, I have a suggestion: turn off SportsCenter and turn on the game.
Secondly, referring to the lot of the NBA and NFL as drug users, gangsters, wife beaters, etc... is simply ignorant. Are there bad seeds? of course. But lawyers, politicians, and doctors get DUIs, beat their wives and do drugs as well. These players do a great deal for charitable organizations, but thats not reported as much. Currently, more that 25 NBA players and over 50 NFL athletes have FOUNDED their own charities. To me, thats pretty commendable. Misinformation breeds stereotypes.
Okay, with that said... Let's all get back to fighting the good fight against sports abominations like those Wichita State batting helmets.

Fair point, Bryan, thanks for clarifying. I kept trying to think of something witty and ironic to say about the bullets, but everything came out crass and heartless.

And to the other poster's point about managers/coaches, well taken, but in college even the head coach is called, well, head coach and not manager. Just a curiosity, I guess.

I haven't seen the UM baseball uniforms in a long time, and wow, logo creep is downright shameless, even for a UM team. I really hope we'll look better next year with Adidas.
I have always filed Wichita State's "Flying W" cap under the "so bad, it's awesome" category. The yellow front panels on a brown hat are just so tacky, but it's of those distinctive uniform nuances where once you see it, you know who's playing.

Out of the jersey options Bryan listed, I'd have to say Exhibit D is the least offensive...so that would be my choice.
Wichita state has no brown as the school colors. The school colors are yellow and black and the only deviation from those colors are the black and white uni's posted earlier.

Im a wichita state fan. Personally I dont like the new Under Armour uni's I cant stand them. Of our "repotoire" my favorites would have to be
But very few teams if any have WHITE and GRAY as their colors, so the logic doesn't work.
You have to know the history of the game.

At the turn of the 20th century, home teams wore white and road teams wore gray. There were accents of color or caps and socks of color.

But there's probably nothing in baseball that's as traditional as white and gray. You don't have to have it in your team's color palette to wear it.
