Totally disagree, stirrups were meant to make it look like guy were wearing colored socks, so wearing them at the Paul Lukas-level isn;t in teh spirit of stirrups at all, and looks only slightly better than solid socks, IMO. Sock/stirrup go as follows:

Ridiculous
Lame

Better
Best
well, like everything else, it's personal preference...one thing i agree with paul EXACTLY on is how to wear one's stirrups

but that could be because we're almost the same age (42 & 44) and grew up during a time when that's the way stirrups were worn

REAL old schoolers prolly prefer the 40-50's look and all you younguns (i don't trust anyone under 30 anymore)...well...you got them there new fangled tastes

doesn't mean you're right however ;)
You couldn't have said it better! I'm 25 for the record. I embrace uniqueness, top button undone, high cuffed, hat titled, flipdowns, wristbands, alternate colored batting gloves, whatever....but not when you look like you just instantly lost 60 pounds on the field.

Hey I grew up when Ken Griffey was coming up. All the "old guys" giving him crap for being "The Kid", hat backwards, looking at homeruns etc. I say N***a Please! haha!

As per Kek's suggestion, I went and got this book from the library yesterday.

However, my keen skills of observation have noticed a discrepancy: The game in question:Game 7 of the 2001 WS was played at The Bob in Arizona, thus an away game for the Yanks, thus making the picture inaccurate.
Would this be better, then?

I admit, after "next to last" I got kinda lost. Math wasn't my strong suit.
Could the author be referring to the last game the yanks won in the series. That being game 5 at Yankee Stadium?

Me and my roomate want to get the jerseys from the 1st mighty ducks movie (the green/yellow and unfortunately splash of purple ones that were never used by the nhl team). Anyone have an idea as to where i could find replicas online?
your not going to find any online...your best bet is to get customs done from a supplier like Athletic Knit or something. I have the logo saved on my computer, email me if you want it.

now...does anyone know where to find striped stirups online????? I have emailed Paul but gotten no response.
Dude, go to Amazon and type in "Stirrup Socks".

Michigan and Oregon State have nothing on Florida State. I will admit to not having pictures, but there are two whites (one with Seminoles on the chest, one with a right side interlocking FS,) a white pinstriped, a white vest, an all gold for Sundays, a garnet top, greys identical to the whites (meaning one that says Seminoles and one with an FS,) and a grey pinstriped vest. There are also vegas gold and garnet BP jerseys.
