Those drawings of the ballparks in Boston are amazing. I’m an alum of Northeastern University, and the South End Grounds were located on the back edge of our campus (it’s now called the Carter Playground), and the Huntington Avenue Grounds were on campus. There’s a statue of Cy Young in front of Churchill Hall where allegedly the pitcher’s mound and home plate was (I think it’s directionally inaccurate as given my understanding of the field layout, based on the Statue, Young would be throwing to Third Base. There’s also a plaque on the corner of Huntington Avenue and Forsythe Street (it’s on the wall of our Phys Ed Center) that marks where the outfield was. It’s our little bit of tradition at Northeastern.

Speaking of the David Ortiz jersey, i heard it was going to be on display in the New England sports museum (which is inside the TD Banknorth garden). I went to the celtics game tonight (blowout) but unfortunately forgot to check it out. If I make it out to any other games ill make sure to head on over. I’m sure they’ve got some other great stuff there too so if I find any jersey related item thats noteworthy ill snap some shots and try and post em here.
