I was watching Robert Fisk's grand slam in the final game at Tigers Stadium in 1999 on youtube and before his at-bat there was a bang-bang play at the plate. More importantly it seems like the batter didn't have anything on the back of his jersey while the others had numbers for the Tigers. It's at about 00:14 of this link.

Anybody know anything about it?
Yes, that was Gabe Kapler. For the final game at Tiger Stadium the defensive players wore the corresponding numbers of the Tigers All-Time team member. Because Ty Cobb was named as the Tigers All-Time CF, Kapler wore his number. Because Cobb played before they had numbers, Kapler didn't wear a number.

Hardly a shining moment for SMU right here. Bizarre...
To make it uni-related (I swear, click to see), #13 and #14 in red have their left digits missing (so they both look like off-centered #1), but from the front only. Their shoulder and rear numbers appear to be intact.
this is what happens when you remove dodgeball from the curriculum
Here's another example. This video is gonna take 14 years off of Phil Jackson's life expectancy.

The problem is: How many dumb-ass kids are going to try this stunt and get seriously hurt?

They would be much safer cup stacking!
