As a PSU student (and lifelong PSU football fan) I can tell you that the buttons are a huge deal among alumni and fans. At the games you’ll see almost everyone sporting the newest version, and some people go all out, covering their hats, scarves, shirts, jackets, etc. with buttons they’ve collected through the years. Since I’m up at school, my somewhat meager button collection isn’t with me (I pin them to the PSU pennant on my wall at home), or else I would share some more wonderful sayings. The button phrases are much wittier than the more recent slogans that students have come up with (speaking specifically of “you have Jesus, we have JoePa” and “Rudy was offsides”).

You forgot the worst of all: “Rudy sucks.”

That’s the point! Rudy wouldn’t have been Rudy if he were a five-star recruit and academic standout!

Sadly the series seems to have ended, so we can’t pay you guys back by both winning and by not throwing eggs at you on the way into the stadium.

At least the corporate sponsor of my favorite ball club’s stadium is a great tasting and less filling beer. Plus, looking at Citi Field’s logo, doesn’t it make you want to order a pizza?

Oregon’s black System of Dress uniform was the hot topic.

Oregon’s “black unis” are not unis at all–they are mere costumes that simply disrespect the game.

Surely you jest. Boring, perhaps, I’ll grant you that much. But PSU’s plain, simple, “old school” football unis just drip with “respect” for the game. They exude the confidence one would expect from a multiple national champion. Oregon’s no-class disgrace, by contrast, befits some aging hag desperate for people to look at her showing up at the Oscars wearing a dress more appropriate for a teenager, at best.

Man, you have to be the most over dramatic person I’ve ever come across. It’s a damn jersey. You can love it like it hate it or despise it, whatever, but how in the blue hell does a black jersey with black letters disrespect the game?? They don’t disresepct the game any more than PSU respects the game…its just different colors, different styles. No class?? How you get that conclusion from a jersey confounds me.
