That doesn’t make much sense, though. The jersey he’s wearing features a team logo (wordmark), and they use the complete trademarked name of the club on the top of the card, which certainly implies permission.

So Topps could use a wordmark but not a logo? That doesn’t seem right. Were wordmarks not protected by the club?

I couldn’t let this stand….

First off, that’s not a Topps card, it’s a Fleer card from 1962.

Second, Lakers used a giraffe as the logo for all purposes back then. I’ve scanned a pic of an old Lakers vs. Nats program advertisment where you can order your official Lakers giraffe logo basketball…

Didn’t see this mentioned, but in his career Wayne Gretzky wore 11 different NHL jerseys (and 4 WHA jerseys as the Oilers had a different coloured logo in the WHA). Those are the major changes, if you want to get into minor changes they elevate much higher.

I only based this off of nhluniforms.com. It doesn’t show which year the Kings wore their gold throwbacks. Did Gretzky wear those ones as well?

Why are you only home/away as one jersey. I’d say that’s two different jerseys.

In his original article, he didnt count home/away as 2 jerseys, only as one
