Peppers was an incredibly powerful presence underneath, big surprise. I remember watching one game at Chapel Hill,when the entire team wore Columbia XI’s against NC State I believe, and he grabbed a rebound directly under the rim. Jumping straight up, no step, he jammed it with more authority than Shaq or anybody I have EVER seen.

He and LeVar Arrington were probably my two favorite college athletes for similar reasons.

Yes, yes, I knew that, but Under Armour must have been peeved that some Reebok Raiders swag ruined the UA-opoly.

Was watching NFL Films doc on the 1981 Super Bowl between the Raiders and Eagles.

I noticed something I never noticed before. The Raiders had a yellow rectangle sticker on the back of their helmets. I wondered if it was an equipment manager thing, like the Cowboys name stickers. I then noticed that the Eagles had it too. Threw me for a loop, until I remebered that that was the Super Bowl where large yellow ribbons decorated the outside of the stadium for the safe return of the hostages in Iran.

The yellow stickers must have been there for the hostages.
