As a kid growing up with the NFL in the 1960s, I had to marvel at how authentic Sunday's NFC championship game felt to watch — the classic unis and the sub-zero temperatures enhanced a dramatic, back-and-forth contest, complete with all the redemptive storylines. But I kept coming back to the teams' uniforms and how friggin' cool they are. Now if only the AFC title game had brought such a pleasing old-school aesthetic to the table. The only way that would have happened would have been if the Colts had been playing the Browns along the wind-swept shores of Lake Erie. I wholeheartedly agree with Larzalere’s “Winter Classic” post.
