Regarding that Nebraska-Minnesota pic:

It looks like the lineman leading interference for the tailback has a cutout under his armpit, as if the body was re-sewn onto the white part of the jersey, which is acting as a shoulderpad. Wonder if that shoulder insert was actually made out of leather instead of wool?

I meant to say Columbia ... not Columbus. I know where the hell Mizzou is.

That photo of Nebraska and Mizzou is not from 1978. The 'Skers didn't have red face masks until 1983. That is the '83 game in Columbus.

Thanks,
Ryan

I watched MNF (here it's actually on Christmas Day) and noticed that LT's custom facecage doesn't actually accept his visor properly - rather than the Oakley clips and screws he has cable ties holding it in place. I've never noticed it before but one side (left I think) had white ties one it so they were pretty obvious, whereas the other side had black which were very hard to see. You would have thought that, when designing a custom cage for a player who always wears a visor, you'd take that into account... It was also very obviosu that the equipment guys hadn't tried too hard to black out the Oakley Os as they were very visible under the lights - many teams now have their own custom decals on the visor tabs - Bears and Skins definitely do.

In my hatred of UNC I keep forgetting how great their basketball jerseys were with the 2 year old designs. Argyle down the sides, the number between the North and Carolina, and the light blue. classics. too bad theyve ruined them with the SOD crap.

W. T. F?

Personally, the NFL should have NEVER played this game on Monday Night at all. It's blasphamy playing Christmas Eve night in the pros. The Hawai'i Bowl, which starts in the afternoon over in Honolulu, is exempt. That's why I didn't watch the Broncos-Chargers game.
Anyone see the bowl game between East Carolina and Boise State? East Carolina had WAY too many patches on their unis - the CUSA patch, the Hawaii Bowl patch, the swoosh, and another patch above the swoosh I can't identify. That bowl patch is just way too big. Anyone have a better picture or know what that patch is?
Flipping through some ECU photo galleries and looking at the ECU Web Site, the patch above the swoosh is an ECU Centennial patch. ECU was founded in 1907.

It's in a Flash photo gallery, so I can't link to it directly. The best photo I could find is #14 on the gallery listed on this page.
