The Bradley University soccer team wore a memorial to fallen teammate Danny Dahlquist on their sleeve and below their uniform numbers this year.

Not sure exactly what is on it, but thought it was unique in both placement below the numbers and on the left sleeve.

The patch was of an Irish cross that on the left said “DQ” (Danny’s nickname) and on the right was his number 29.

There was also two of them on the field as well. And wrist bands were sold that said “Once a brave, always a brave” on the outside. The inside said, “In memory of Danny Dahlquist, #29″

That picture of Mattingly has to be before 1984 because he won the AL batting title that year.

that is the year I.L. celebrated 100 yrs, notice the 1884 on jersey, most I.L. teams wore a special hat that year also.

Yeah I wonder about the rules regarding pants and jersey combos. Obviously the Titans proved they were very loose last year. But some teams have one color or pants (Packers, Steelers), some have two but only where one with a particulare jersey (like the Patriots), some have two that they mix around (Eagles, Jets, etc), and then there’s the few teams with three pants.

Good call on the Rams uniforms, I think I’ll die the day the Rams try gold-on-gold like the 49ers did two or three seasons ago.
The Patriots did wear navy-on-navy at least once, but they lost 28-10.

Never. I’ve seen every 9ers game for 25 years and they’ve worn only white or dark red jerseys with either white or gold pants. I believe someone is mistaken.

Now they do sell gold replicas just like the Raiders sell silver replicas. They aren’t game jerseys.

New logo for the Florence Freedom of the Pioneer League (baseball). Interesting tidbit from the article, the feathers that shape the eagle head also form an FF, standing for Florence Freedom.

Not sure why Florence did a uni and logo change…I worked as an intern for the Evansville Otters and frankly I thought they had some of the best in the Frontier League before the swtich. Nothing compared to the old style unis that River City wears though.

Also, I like the tradition of IU basketball as much as the next guy, but all I hear out of Bloomington this year is how Eric Gordon is gonna lead them to a national title and then they go and put out shoes like this? Wow….Think they are going a little overboard, especially since they havent hung a banner in 20 years now….Sorry gotta give a little nudge to those homerish IU fans that I put up with all the time living in Indiana.

Watching the New Orleans bowl, and I’m in love with FAU’s uniforms…they have a very nice, consistent use of stripes, and, despite being Nike, have a very old-school feel to them. they are very similar to old Patriots uniforms. I really like them a lot.

Memphis, on the other hand, is sporting a Denver Bronco-style-striped jersey and no-striped solid blue pants, and looks very blah, especially compared to FAU.
