I first would like to point out an error in the artical that Royal was only worn by about Half the teams at UT Martin, UTM's school colors are Navy and Orange, Not orange and black, so the Tennessee uniform option is not viable. UT Martin has had a history of not having an identity, from the baby vols, to the pacers, and now Skyhawks the colors have had to evolve. 2 big oranges in TN would not work. here is a bit more Background. The Baby vols were Tennessee looking unis, the Pacers royal and orange with the 70's and 80's UTM wore navy. UT Martin is in a transition year of going from the Royal Pacers, to the Navy Skyhawks. As it goes why the footaball looks just like Auburn, that is simple, coaches preference . Plus if you are going to look like someone why not a winner. The UT Martin Colors and Uniform change.
