In case you were wondering, Coppin State’s initials are CSU. I saw it somewhere. Here too. And in case you were also counting eagles on those Coppin State threads, the number is four. One on the collar, one on the waistband and one on each side of the shorts. — Bryan

I could only find one relevant image, but Oakland (MI) played Michigan State last night, and they have incorporated their NOB-under-the-number scheme into the new Nike System Of Dress, and the result is really odd. On the black roadies the number is very high up, in gold, with white NOB. The front is equally high and all gold. It resembles Colorado’s football fonts, but the SOD makes it look completely ridiculous.

Man, I would LOVE to see those as a Memphis Grizzlies throwback. Talk about a 1990’s uniform time capsule. There it is. Lavish cartoons, crazy fonts, and teal. Triple check.
The wonderfully expressive and creative days of the NBA (circa 1995) when there was no “System of Dress” nor “EDG” fabricated bullshit, to simply help sell more ugly jerseys to the poor fans…
Vancouver Grizzlies//An Exotic Taste of Styles.
1.) Jacquard trim Vancouver Grizzlies /neck trim.
Pattern developed by Native BC Indian to reflect the Grizzly Bear in Haida culture. I am NOT making this stuff up.
2.) Sublimated Teal Unis by Champion.
Full dye sublimation process by a manufactured by
Holt Manufacturing. Light and bright baby.
http://www.holtsubli...
Check out the Hawks 1997 jersey. Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!
3.) Tackle twill magic.
Look at the claw marks in the Grizzlies font. Now that’s some serious tackle twill craftsmanship…
Hey, at least if you’re going to be hosed into buying a $250 dollar piece of fabric, it should look like $250 dollars of effort went into it right?
The Vancouver Grizzlies franchise was an after thought in the NBA expansion season of 1995. The League granted a franchise to John Bitove and the Toronto Raptors and that was going to be it.
At the last minutr, businessman Arthur Griffiths, in Canada, made an offer to Stern and the NBA that they could not refuse. The Grizzlies were going to be the Mounties but there was shoe company in Canada who had the rights to the name Mounties in like 20 apparel and merchandise categories.
So Grizzlies it was…

I’ve never been a fan of the white helmet shell, nor of the gray facemask. If the gray (or silver) represents a team color, OK. I know it’s traditional, but I’m partial to the white mask. (cases in point, Browns pre-2005, Boise State, KC Chiefs)
