Very odd scene last night in Phoenix, as the Suns wore their orange alts, which are technically a road uni, so the Lakers wore their home yellows, resulting in a confusingly citrus-themed affair (additional pics here, here, here, and here). Even more oddly, the Suns’ orange/gray color scheme showed up on the opposing coach’s necktie. — Paul

Not a big fan of the “SUNS” on the waist band of the shorts. I think it is look big and makes the jersey look too busy.
I am a fan of the orange unis with the gray, even though it has some problems. Look at how the piping tapers up in the photo of Raja Bell. It makes him look like he is wearing some sort of strange tank top with a sleeveless t-shirt underneath.

I’ve never liked the Orange Crush Suns alts. Just…too….something. Can’t really put my finger on it.
But, on an unrelated by still NBA-centric note, I really do like the new Hawks unis. Yeah, they’re kinda “safe.” But, in a world populated by the Nike Kool Aid and the horrors of Oregon football, they’re a nice addition.
Speaking of Oregon…anyone wanna place bets on which horrific combo they’ll bust out in todays epic clash with Arizona State?
Did I just say “EPIC CLASH” in regards to an Oregon/Arizona St. football game?? Yeah…I did. And it feels really weird.
And finally, speaking of that game, I really like Arizona St’s uni for some reason. I can’t really explain why, but I do.

From yesterday’s ticker: Joe Girardi will wear No. 27 with the Yankees, to symbolize the team’s quest for a 27th championship.
Personally I hope Girardi never has to worry about this, but I wonder, if the Evil Empire wins a 27th championship will he then change his uni number to 28?
For full disclosure I am a Padres fan and a Yankee hater.

UCLA Basketball played their first exhibition game of the season yesterday, and we wore our “redesigned” gold ‘C’ uniforms. You can see in the gallery that they just added a blue outline that many people here suggested. I was at the game and it didn’t look terrible.
While it certainly is unique, I wish they would have stuck to a patch and not change our classic look. It’ll be interesting to see what our road uniforms will look like.

I think teams choose their own ball suppliers, be it football, basketball, volleyball, etc. As long as they conform to NCAA standards, you can use whatever ball you want in the regular season. Each conference will have their own balls for conference tournaments, then the NCAA will have their own balls for their tournaments.

Nike stupidity alert! Nike stupidity alert!
Ok, so a few months ago I found a Portugal t-shirt at my local Dick’s here in Missouri, which is kind of a big deal because there are probably like 5 Portuguese people in the Midwest lol
Yesterday I was wearing the shirt and something seemed off. And I look carefully and I see there’s a typo on my shirt! In portuguese, federation is written federação, but on the shirt it’s written federãçao. I went to the nike store site and the image they have has the typo
nike typo
So in reality it’s a little thing, and not that significant, but it’s gonna bug me everytime I wear it now.
But it’s not like I can blame the poor low-wage worker who made it, it’s not his/her fault, they’re just trying to put food on the table.
Anyway, let’s enjoy a laugh at nike.

Also, it depends on what channel you’re watching. Here in Oregon we have the choice of FSN or CSN (Comcast SportsNet) and FSN’s white balance or hue seems to be off in comparison to CSN. Don’t know what ESPN looks like since that is blacked out here and we’re getting Rutgers\UConn instead.

I can’t find a photo anywhere, but towards the end of the OU/Texas AM game there was a kick off where one of the A&M players came running on the field with a ripped up jersey. All the ABC guy said was “they needed a single number out there.” I think he means that there was already the number he was wearing out there so he had to put on something with a different number.
