[...] The always entertaining fount of sports uniform-related minutia, UniWatch, has a compilation of gametime scrambling caused by lost or stolen uniforms. The article—inspired by the recent Virginia Tech players who had to wear Georgia Tech jerseys for a recent game, complete with handwritten nameplates—has one hockey-related example: 1998: During the World Junior Hockey Championships in Finland, Canada and Russia both show up for a quarterfinal game with red uniforms. Russia is the designated home team, so the Canadians are forced to play the first period in Finnish national jerseys until their white jerseys can be driven to the arena. [...]

Not that anyone cares, but when I played high school frosh basketball we played a home game against a team that wore road yellows. Unfortunately, our home jerseys were yellows too. If I remember correctly, we went back into the locker room and put on our maroon tops (it was either that or the whites from the JV team) and kept wearing the yellow shorts.

I like the article but I must admit when my son and I read it, we where shocked to see the word
"fuck" in the article. Since when is that word used commonly on a espn website. If that is the future of your reporting, then I will now read SI.com for now on.

Same thing happened to Ole Miss one year when Archie Manning was QB. Ole Miss's uniforms got lost in transit and Ole Miss had to wear opponent's (auburn I think) road uniforms.
I can recall an incident of a player wearing a fan's jersey. This happened back in 1985/86, when I was following an amateur football team called the Birmingham Bulls, based in Birmingham, England. A bunch of fans, myself included, made the long trek to Frankfurt, Germany to watch the Bulls play the Hanau Hawks. Bulls QB Dave Stanton lost his jersey along the way, so one of the coaches came into the stands and borrowed a replica jersey that one of our fan group was wearing. Stanton took the field wearing this black jersey, with a white tape nameplate and his surname handwritten in black marker. It made for a great souvenir after the game ...
I'd guess that there aren't too many replica away jerseys to be found in Atlanta for VT, so that probably wasn't an option. Maybe if GT was still wearing white at home (gold is a recent change) and VT needed maroon jerseys..

I really like what's been done with the Casper Ghost's. Looking at Plan B. Branding's website however, shows them as the responsible party for the Fresno Grizzlies overhaul. They must have visited Fresno because brown and green ARE the dominant colors here. But that doesn't mean I want my team represented by such bland crap. The logo they designed was garbage too.
I don't know who the Grizz have hired for their new makeover (after only two years), but if it's Plan B. again...C'mon guys...I've now seen your work. You can (and HAVE) done better. I'm not saying you have to go back to purple (although I'd personally like that), but anything has to be better than what you came up with last time.
