I always thought the Camden Yards ivy didn't reach the top of the wall because it starts growing at the beginning of the season and doesn't ever have a chance to grow that high. Also, how would ESPN put banners up on that wall if it's the batter's eye?

As for the strips of missing grass - yes, those are to replace grass on the field itself.

I think there is some historical revision going on here with the Babe Ruth statue. I remember when it was unveiled and it was first noticed that he had a right-handed glove. The explanation at the time was that the sculptor had used a glove of that era without considering handedness and that it was in fact a mistake.

The claim about Ruth having used borrowed gloves may sound reasonable, but it was certainly not given as an explanation at the time the statue was unveiled.

So I'd say it's the sculptor's mistake, followed by a clever story to cover up the tracks.

Has anyone reported on this already? Why isn't Mexico wearing their adidas Unis in the Pan Am games.
Interesting/ They also don't have the Mexican football federation logo on them. The Jamaicans appear to be in official kit. Strange.

SB
I think it's cause the pan am games only have amateur athletes competing. So sometimes there are different sponsors for the amateurs than for the pros.

Retail sales for a big sports equipment company (it'll be your first guess, I guarantee it) in San Francisco, and a student in Oakland.
I still prefer if the logo looked like this

new, old and updated
Impressive! I agree--that looks pretty B.A. One thing i would keep from the "old" logo--the straight edge of the top of the triangle. i HATE how the "new" logo is bowed across the top.
If you watch the video on the Sharks website, you can see a possible hint of the Sharks uni in the background. It's teal with a white stripe under an orange shoulderpatch. In other words, it looks WAY too much like the Dolphins. If those are the jerseys, I disapprove.
If you had looked closer, you also would've noticed that piece cloth is rectangular shaped and has the team's "This is Sharks territory" promotional graphic on it. It's just a giveaway/promotional towel, not a jersey.
