While normally I find myself agreeing with you Mr. Met, I find myself compelled to ask in this instance why you're the arbiter of what's relevant to talk about on this site all of the sudden? I think undershirts, whether you can see what's written on them or not, are certainly part of the uniform (as per the Ted Lilly section of the blog this morning or as per the fact that Justin Morneau wears a hockey t shirt--a Canucks shirt I think--under his uniform). And that several of the Mets wore an orange t shirt with a clown on it is certainly noteworthy based upon that criteria.
"Arbiter of Relevance"? I like the sound of that!

When someone tells me that I'm missing the point and that they are admiting to being a bunch of clowns, I fail to see what that has to do with the uniforms. I feel this whole "issue" is one of the message on the shirt and not how it affects the aesthetic of the uniform; it couldn't possibly be an aesthetics issue, because the message on the shirt doesn't interfere with the aesthetics of the uniform on the field. All you see is a 1-inch sliver of orange at the top of the uniform, which they have been doing now for over 20 years.

I thought that saying "to me, this is not uni-related" would show that I think it's not uni-related; your mileage may vary. But my question is this, and no one has answered it yet: You can't see what's on their undershirts. It doesn't interfere with the uniform. Orange is a color that the Mets have worn underneath their jerseys in the past, going back at least 20 years. So what does a clown graphic, that you can't see, that is under their jerseys, that is not interfering with the uniform, have to do with the Mets' uniforms? How is it affecting the aesthetics of their uniforms? That's all I'm asking.
That's fine and I'm not saying you're wrong in your estimation that a portion of the uniform that can't be seen isn't as important as those parts which can be, but it's still fun to talk about it, especially on a site where the whole idea is to obsess over details; both seen and unseen.

(1) You don't know if I'm a member of the ballclub or not.
(2) If I were a member of the Mets, I'd probably just go ahead and hang myself.
(3) It is uni-related if more than one of them are wearing it.

(1) Referencing the ballclub as "they" and "their club" gives it away. Your pathetic shoutout to the Braves confirms it.
(2) If I were a member of the Braves and knew that my team would dominate in the regular season but fold like a cheap deck of cards in the playoffs, I'd probably just go ahead and hang myself.
(3) Since the point I am trying to make is clearly too advanced for your thought process, I won't bother repeatng myself.
(4) That's real original. "Go Braves"? Where, home for the winter? Because the Magic 8-Ball sees no playoffs in your immediate future.
"Go Braves" is only the first part of the official Atlanta cheer, followed by "......and take the Falcons with you"
