When someone tells me that I’m missing the point and that they are admiting to being a bunch of clowns, I fail to see what that has to do with the uniforms. I feel this whole “issue” is one of the message on the shirt and not how it affects the aesthetic of the uniform; it couldn’t possibly be an aesthetics issue, because the message on the shirt doesn’t interfere with the aesthetics of the uniform on the field. All you see is a 1-inch sliver of orange at the top of the uniform, which they have been doing now for over 20 years.

I thought that saying “to me, this is not uni-related” would show that I think it’s not uni-related; your mileage may vary. But my question is this, and no one has answered it yet: You can’t see what’s on their undershirts. It doesn’t interfere with the uniform. Orange is a color that the Mets have worn underneath their jerseys in the past, going back at least 20 years. So what does a clown graphic, that you can’t see, that is under their jerseys, that is not interfering with the uniform, have to do with the Mets’ uniforms? How is it affecting the aesthetics of their uniforms? That’s all I’m asking.

That’s fine and I’m not saying you’re wrong in your estimation that a portion of the uniform that can’t be seen isn’t as important as those parts which can be, but it’s still fun to talk about it, especially on a site where the whole idea is to obsess over details; both seen and unseen.

Why would the Cabage Patch Kid have a Mets uni and the ballplayers all be wearing ‘Vets’ jerseys. That’s just dumb.
