1. Boston Bruins. Wins most improved. Should have gone gold/black/white/black/gold on white jerseys though.
2. Columbus. Nice upgrade.
3. Los Angeles. Meh. More purple.
4. Carolina. Nice.
5. NY Islanders. Someone stop Charles Wang before he ruins the unis again!
6. Washington Crapitals. Bites, blows, stinks and sucks at once. Major downgrade with logo, colors. Should have kept Cobalt Blue, bronze or gone to gold and used “Eagle W” with red trim.

“Here’s my take on the Hawks unis:

“They should have kept the yellow…even if they used it as a minor color with the red & blue. “They had established an identity in red & yellow.
“These unis aren’t bad…they are a little bland. “Although I like this current trend of more plain, traditional unis instead of the 90’s trend with massive logos, teams are starting to look the same.
“These unis sort of look like the Nike college template sans shoulder stripes.”

Problem is, no matter what color they wear…

a. The team still can’t draw flies even if they covered themselves in dung, and
b. they still suck.

I have never seen the Sox wear throwbacks from the 1975 era and have never reintroduced the caps which is a shame because they are great.

During the ‘96 season (I may be off a year), the Sox wore three different home caps: the regular blue, a white cap with a blue bill and red ‘B’, and the late ’70s era red. Always blue on the road. As I recall, they wore the white caps most often at home, and only wore the reds on Sundays and holidays. Additionally, I seem to recall them wearing the red caps once or twice in throwback games.

I really hate when the catchers masks (hockey style) dont match on a retro night, its quite annoying.

Barrett used to wear the hockey style mask, then switched for the ‘06 season to the old style catcher mask. He was only arrived in San Diego on Thursday. My guess he just hasn’t found or been given a proper mask yet.

Barrett was wearing the old mask this year until the Zambrano fight, when he got his lip cut up he went hockey style to keep pressure off the lip, once its fully healed he’ll probably go back to the old style.

I’m sure this is incorrect. They wore the white hat more often than not that season (home games only) and hardly ever wore the reds. The detail about the white ‘B’ may be right, though.

Wasn’t the white hat their Sunday hat? All I remember is them being referred to as the good humor men on sports center whenever they wore them.

But what’s the deal with the silly team logo on the back collar? Lots of teams are doing that and it just looks silly. It also pushes the names and numbers down, making them harder to see.
