Now that's some proper hosiery action in that pic!
You got that right!! The best ones (in my opinion) are the 4 players on the right hand side (as you look at it) of the front row, Yastrzemski, Rice, Porter, and White.

Man, how great would that look if a big league team did that now?? Dare to dream.....

And the most annoying thing to me about <a href="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1281/567030456_ccdcfff20f_b.jpg" rel="nofollow">this pic</a> is that the "00" is upside-down.

The fat part of the number should be on the right. If you look inside the number you will see that the hole makes a "D." We had a saying when making jerseys with those types of fonts (Capitals mainly), "There's no D in zero."
The other part that no one has pointed out is the player on the right (#9) and the catcher are wearing black sani's while everyone else is wearing red.
Do you mean stirrups? It appears that all the players are wearing white sannies.
They appear to be All-Star jerseys. Notice the differences in the gray pants.
Regarding the US Women's National Team jerseys, isn't it a bit presumptious to wear a gold jersey? Shouldn't they at least win the World Cup first, then bring them out?
While not defending World Cup champions, the US Women have won the Women's World Cup twice. (out of four tournaments).

And the US Women are the reigning Olympic Gold Medal winners from the last Olympics.

In women's soccer, the Olympics is nearly as big as the World Cup. Add to that, that both the Women's World Cup, and Olympics will be held in China over the next two years.

Yes, it's a jersey with a statement, but the women have what it takes to back that kind of statement.

Yes! The graphic in the article titled "<a href="http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Graphic/2007/06/21/1182420165_3599.gif" rel="nofollow">Changing Their Stripes</a>" has the Flyers in Cooperalls!
Why were the Cooperalls banned by the NHL in 1983? Was it a conformity thing or were they dangerous in some way?
supposedly, when players fell to the ice, they'd slide a whole lot more in pants than in the normal short pants and socks, to the point where hitting into the boards was dangerous.

from nhluniforms.com:
"For the 1981-82 season, the Philadelphia Flyers introduced the decade's most radical idea -- long pants, as modeled here by Brian Propp. The idea behind the new pants, manufactured by Cooper under the name Cooperall, was to create a faster, lighter uniform, with lighter padding underneath. The pants did make the skaters faster; unfortunately, they were also faster whenever they took a spill and would crash very hard into the boards. The Hartford Whalers joined the Flyers in wearing long pants the following season. At the end of the 1982-83 season, the NHL outlawed the long pants, causing both the Flyers and the Whalers to revert back to the old faithful, time-tested short pants."

makes you kinda wonder why nobody mentioned these when the "sleeker, ultra fast" RBK edge jerseys were introduced...i mean the socks are a completely different, much smoother fabric, new pants, and of course a sleek jersey that water runs off of...sounds more dangerous to me than cooperalls.

and the pic posed above with cooperalls...is that the soviet team?!?! i can't tell, but it looks like there's a CP on the goalie's jersey...i mean sweater...sorry, my americanness is showing
Interesting quote out of the Washington article:

Six other teams -- Boston, Columbus, Ottawa, San Jose, Tampa Bay, and Vancouver -- also will make changes to their uniforms as the NHL switches to a new form-fitting uniform designed by Reebok. The Capitals' overhaul is among the most extensive because both the logo and colors are completely different.

Dallas isn't mentioned. I wonder who is wrong?
Oh man, I HOPE the Post is right and Dallas gets to keep their star design. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

this belongs to yesterday's blog but I went around the NHL shop and only 25 team's <a href="http://shop.nhl.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2762849&cp=&view=all" rel="nofollow">Draft Day hats</a> are shown. Missing from the group is Anaheim, Boston, Ottawa, San Jose and Washington. Think it might means some changes are in store for those teams or am I reading into it too much?
You think Reebok would've used a different template between the <a href="http://www.nflshop.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2557313&cp=2237410.2671228.2671229&ab=OAS_Headwear_L&parentPage=family" rel="nofollow">NFL Draft hats</a> and the <a href="http://shop.nhl.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2630684&cp=2762849&pageDisplay=family&pageType=family&int_nextBucket=0&totalProductsCount=25&doVSearch=no&pageCount=4&pageBucket=0&pageNum=1&int_prevBucket=-1&ab=OAS_HP%3ADraftHats060607&page_bucket=0&page=4&showSizeSearch=false&hasPagination=false&parentPage=family&clickid=body_bestsell_img" rel="nofollow">NHL Draft Hats</a>.
Maybe it's my eyes, but do the logos on the NHL hats look a little fake?
Flyers Hat:

Bengals Hat:

Kinda like the Flyers logo and the word Philadelphia were photshopped, notice how the top bar of the Flyers logo disappears, rather than wrapping around.

That and the old Caps and Old Bruin logos also look rather flat
Uh, yeah. It's just a graphic superimposed on a hat, it's not a picture of the actual product.
