supposedly, when players fell to the ice, they’d slide a whole lot more in pants than in the normal short pants and socks, to the point where hitting into the boards was dangerous.

Kinda like the Flyers logo and the word Philadelphia were photshopped, notice how the top bar of the Flyers logo disappears, rather than wrapping around.
