They got the helmets to fit on the lion's head yesterday. In '86 they tured a grill upside down and used that as a helmet.

*On a complete side note, I happen to share my birthday with a certain Coach Ditka.. Oct. 18th

P.S. Damn Hoosiers
Hot damn! Add me to your list of those representing October 18. I'm not sure if I had known about the Ditka thing...but that's pretty cool.
Saint's fans being mistreated was pretty widespread. I personally know people who went to the game and had beer, food, and verbal attacks hurled at them. I mean, this is shocking for Saints fans, who'd never waste beer or food like that. We may talk shit, but then grab you around the shoulders and give you another hurricane (a drink, for those that don't know).

And bears-super-fan: how many fans showed up at the airport for the Bears when the left for Miami? 3
How many Saints fans stayed out in the freezing rain until 2am when the Saints flew back into NOLA after the loss to the Bears? Thousands. They lined the road too and from the airport.
And how many times has it been mentioned how many Bears fans have been in Miami all week to support the team?!?!

To #186...

Yes, Tommy Lasorda was the Dugout Wizard and he wore a Carnac the Magnificent-esque get up.

I can't say I remember specifically what episode or drill you are remembering, but if it involved the catcher - maybe it involved another cather from the era like Dempsey or Gary Carter... not sure.

But I do remember them re-enacting the George Brett pine tar incedent.

Got in real late to the discussion, but I really remember "The Baseball Bunch" and have looked for it on DVD. No luck. Didn't Tommy Lasorda play a Genie or Magician? Really liked the 2 strike pitch out Johnny Bench pulled off that they re-enacted, but can't remeber the pitcher or batter. Any one?

Apoligize if any of this was already discussed.

From Tuesday’s comments:
“(Europe, of course, but has any other continent placed a player in a hockey All Star game yet?)”

Washington Capitals goaltender Olaf Kolzig was born in South Africa.

Former Caps and Canadiens star defenseman Rod Langway was born in Taiwan.
