prepare this man his straightjacket, because that's an insane comment.
just out of curiosity....but what is o wrong w/them? IMO they look a lot better than all whites, (what could be more dull) and no one complains about those.

i am for more uni combos, not less...if we are going to allow all whotes w/no complaint, then i dont see what is wrong w/all solids...they are a different look, and i think they looked just fine.

dont see why someone's opinion over a uniform would require a straitjacket...i thought they looked pretty nice, myself.

Why do NFL teams always seem to wear dark-on-dark in prime time? The Borncos did it again last night, and the Jaguars are doing it tonight.

I just hope the Chiefs don't wear red on red Thursday night.
Ew ... I hope my Chiefs have more sense than that. Still, they did wear white on white for the opener, so who knows? (White on white at HOME? What the hell were you THINKING, Herm?!!?)

I did find <a href="http://www.mymcfarlane.com/images/nfl6.pholmes.variation.jpg" rel="nofollow">this,</a> though. Ouch.
i have to say, for all the hits that all solid unis take, i am one who likes them. i think it is good when we don't feel beholden to tradition simply because i also think certain colors get the short shrift simply because they are considered loud or what have you...i happen to like orange. i like that the bears have an orange alternate, and to me, honestly, the orange jerseys the browns wore looked better as a uniform and, well, a color, than...brown. a suit of pair of shoes, sure, but as a unoform color, i have to say i am not a fan of brown...yet, you would think a crime had been committed when they broke out the range. personally, i like the orange better than any uniform they have at all...

i think its interesting, too, that people will accept certain changes wholesale...wider shoulder straps on basketball uniforms, or longer shorts, without question, but change the colors!

personally, i think the most boring thing in foorball uniforms are akll whites. since this tradition started back when teams usually only had one pair of white pants for both home and away, i see no reason why that tradition should be honored, since it comes not from a choice per se, but from a lack of one...and it really exists b/c its a tradition...to me, it just looks like a white flag for surrender.

so, i a a fan of alternate uniforms, in general. i think the nets reds look great. i think the celtics look really great, esp b/c i think the celtic uniforms are held back by tradition, and i personally think they are boring. i have never really liked them b/c of their dull unis. the new alternates look amazing, imo, and i would ditch the old ones, or make those alt/throwbacks, and use the new ones as a template. i hate the lakers, but i love the alternates and throwbacks they have.

i really like the kansas basketball alts as well...

but i'm just rambling now.

my point is that holding onto tradition can keep you from moving forward just as often as it celebrates the past, so i think people should be moeopen minded.

in that vein, more solids on nfl teams. more alternates...less white on white.

and youre not an idiot if you disagree with me. its just my opinion...and not law...(unless ballot measure 411.2 passes next week, and we all pray it will!)

By the way, as far as I know, there’s been no offical declaration that Stern has banned black as an alternate uni color; just a lot of hearsay.

Hearsay as in the Official NBA Operations Manual under bylaws.

Section 2 a.6 // Team Logos & Uniforms

"No team will be permitted to use the color black as a dominant team color besides teams already attired in such color. Those teams will be grandfathered in. Should a team featuring black request a uniform change the League will recommend the discontiuation of black."

I <b>knew</b>
Just out of curiosity, where does Army get its cheerleaders? They're not female cadets, are they? Because that wouldn't seem to me to be a very Army-like thing to do.
I don't see his question as all that inappropriate. From the picture the cheerleaders look like any other pretty college cheerleaders. At first glance I didn't think they were officer trainees either, but then figured that the military would not be so wasteful as to import cheerleaders for football games (or would they? - after all, the coaches are usually not servicemen).

From most of our own experiences with cheerleaders, I think we could vouch that many if not most practicing cheerleaders do not have the mindset necessary to enroll in a service academy - in other words they lack the aggressive tendencies that we would associate with military men and women (except Carolina Panthers cheerleaders) but this viewpoint is after all a stereotype. KT was simply asking a question since the paradigms of cheerleader and soldier seem to easily clash. He doesn't deserve the grief ya'll are giving him.
They're cadets. My dad used to teach at Air Force and had some cheerleaders in his class. They're the same as everybody else that goes there.
Does everyone see the Jaguars' uniforms as black?

If they are, the unis are a different shade of black than their helmets...
I did watch part of the game last night; the Jags uniforms are definitely black. You are correct, the helmets are a slightly different shade as Jacksonville uses a "dazzle" finish on their helmets. It was always clear when they played the Steelers that Pittsburgh used plain molded black plastic shells and Jacksonville used the dazzle paint on theirs.

Really?
I love college FB socks.
Why should college teams have to wear them high just like the NFL? Uniformity is good, but conformity is a whole different issue.

It seems like socks are more uniform in the NCAA anyway, while there may be differing heights and styles of socks, everyone on the team has to wear the same ones, there's no <a href="http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/apphoto/770d0afe-9845-4943-9329-dc427f2b14ec.jpg" rel="nofollow">low whites</a>/<a href="http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/apphoto/3ca20760-1b6b-4689-83fa-d555adb9e2ea.jpg" rel="nofollow">high whites</a>

I was a little upset when i saw Michigan had gone to the high socks as oposed to the <a href="http://mtimages.cstv.com/michigan/26.jpg" rel="nofollow">low ones</a> they used to wear.
Actually, I think what Michigan does makes a lot of sense. Earlier in the season when it's not quite as cold yet in Big Ten country, they go with the low socks.

As the weather gets colder, the socks go up. And since they've been using navy socks, I like the look. I'm not a huge fan of high whites in football. Even in the NFL, I much prefer the high color with a sliver of white.

Finally, I think the Irish should permanently switch to the greens. Not only does it more accurately reflect the school's heritage, it looks better, too.
