Well, apparently harder for CBS than for others. ABC requests that schools send a spare regulation helmet to their studio if that school is featured on an ABC telecast that week. ABC then returns the helmet to the school the following week.

Since CBS is pretty much THE afternoon network for the SEC, I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t have 12 spare helmets in the studio.

Even if the SEC didn’t provide them, I’m sure CBS gets enough in ad revenues for broadcasting the SEC games that they could go out and buy 12 authentic helmets from Riddell or Schutt. At roughly $200 a piece that would set them back a whopping $2,400 for the first year, and then they would only need to replace them when a school changes their design.

If the purpose of eye black is to keep glare out of the player’s eyes, they’re defeating the purpose by putting the white logo on them. Actually, according to this Wikipedia entry, the stickers are ineffective even if they don’t have the logo.
So…since they don’t reduce glare, are they wearing them for a war-paint effect?

This drives me nuts. I wore eye black, but only when we played out doors and when it was sunny. I never wore it indoors or when it was overcast/a night game

I can’t tell if it the Mizuno logo, I had only seen the M logo before but it looks like they have an alternate logo on theire home page. It could be that, I can’t find a real god picture of it but you can see it a little in the 6th picture in this gallery.

Checked out the post-season ticket sales by the A’s and they are NOT offering tickets for the upper ring… Wouldn’t the lower levels be guaranteed to sell out so you try to maximize dollars by opening up the rest of the stadium?

It was announced before the season that they would block off the upper deck for the season. It was also announced that they would not open them for the playoffs either. They covered it with a tarp that supposedly honors the teams history, featuring retired numbers and world series wins since the team moved to Oakland.

And who says the A’s need to “maximize dollars?” The less money they make, the more Billy Beane has an excuse when the A’s commit another first-round heartbreak.

True enough. When it comes to the Detroit Tigers you can’t argue that there is a more classic uniform in use today.

Now if they would just come up with a navy blue alternate with a white “D” and white piping (switching the white with the blue), that could be the jersey to end all jerseys in my book.
