The first high schoo,I went to used two obviously college logos for our football teams. The first year we used the Wisconsin “W” in blue (Washington high school) and the second year we used the Hawkeye logo as an eagle. Another interesting note is that in the movie “Friday Night Lights” you can see Permian shirts with the Penn State logo when they are lifting weights.

Yeah, I know the Bears have the same logo but the team colors made me immediately think of the Reds.

The best football helmet I have ever seen is also on the Illinois HS page of that site. Vernon Hills has the Van Halen logo on their helmet. ROCK!!

I know Paul has been mentioning underbill messages for a while now, but I don’t remember anyone mentioning that Hideo Nomo used to have “#16″ inscribed on the side of his hat’s underbill. I noticed this back in 1996 and copied him by writing Ray Lankford’s number (also #16)on the underbill of my Cardinals hat. This, of course, was done when Ray was good and my favorite player.

Indeed. He also has his pants exactly right. But for the record, Fick always wears stirrups, not just when Nick Johnson is injured.

I’ve never really heard of it as the “flag corps.” Every marching band I’ve seen (high school, college, drum corps) has referred to them as the “color guard.” this was true at my high school. i was in the marching band for four years there. I’m currently in the San Jose State Spartan Marching Band .

And sadly, yes, I do have a friend in the University of “Ugly Uniform” Oregon Marching Band.

If you guys ever need a marching band resident expert, I’m your man.

And don’t start with those “One time, at band camp…” jokes. TRUST ME, I’ve heard ‘em all.
