Dunguard Trivia – a few years ago (when he was with the Bucs) Trent Dilfer struck up a friendship with Terry Bradshaw. Dilfer wanted to wear Bradshaw’s old Dunguard mask (the same model Morten Anaderson wears) for one game. I can’t remember if they ever did let him wear it or not – it would have been his last year with Tampa Bay, which would have been 1999 maybe?

He did wear that facemask in a game. It was a sunday night game on ESPN vs. the Tennesse Oilers . (not yet the Titans)I don’t remeber the year but 99 sounds about right. I remember Tampa lost that game and Dilfer had a pretty good game, which was rare for him.

I wore on of those playing high school ball in 1991-92. Most of the other guys had the vinyl-covered metal bars, which would get pretty torn up over the course of a season.

Sad to see the interview being deleted; maybe the offending parts could be edited out?

I’m betting Peter Angelos’ minions ddn’t like being called cheap and so they threatened to take the business away from Joe and defect to The Sports Authority or Modell’s for their jerseys!

I won’t be doing any of it. It’s all up to you. The gravatar project is a web-wide one. The idea is that sites that are “gravatar-enabled” will allow you to use the one you created on gravatar.com.

The point is that if you went here to post or a different blog to post (let’s say a Twins one, in your case), your unique image would be the same on both blogs. If you changed your image on gravatar.com, your image would change here and anywhere else you posted.

A site has to be gravatar-enabled for it to work. More and more are going that root, though.
